The Arbor is a unique gathering for women at Gospel City Church. With the content theme being anchored in the growth that comes from pursuing Jesus and personal relationships, the branding focused on representing life and beauty while drawing on the imagery associated with the spring season. Key elements of this gathering were interactive displays, a sixty foot hand painted banner, and an interview style film with women from the community.
"Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love". - Ephesians 4:15-16
Cultural Statement
–––
An arbor is placed at the entrance to a garden. It’s what the plants cling to for support, growth, and purpose. It’s a framework for them to exist by. The arbor is a framework for life to cling to. It's patterns of growth are intricate and delicate. The center of the arbor is a doorway that gives access to the garden where there, the beauty thrives.
The arbor is an invitation for all to come and experience the beauty that awaits.
As always, The Arbor desires to be a place where women feel seen, known, and loved. So, the goal of the environment is always to create a space where women can bond and feel comfortable to let down.
For the in-room design, the idea was to create an environment where women could build relationships together over participating through the same experiences. Following the theme of the content, individual stations were created that asked women to contribute their own small part of a bigger story.
In addition to the interactivity, a hand lettered banner spanning the width of the room was flown on truss as a reminder of relationship as the foundation of individual growth. Another key feature was the addition of a live artist painting throughout the event to signify the continuing beauty and growth the gathering was anchored in.
